Dietition/Nutritionist appointment

Late in June I had the Nutritionist appointment. It basically was for them to evaluate my current eating habits and feelings about food to see if there would be any reason I wouldn't be a good candidate for WLS. Again, it really felt like both they (the medical professionals) and I were just going through the motions to satisfy the insurance company.

They had a several page questionnaire for me to fill out before meeting with the dietitian. Once there we basically spoke about what has stopped my weight loss in the past and what I should work on moving forward. We discussed protein need and what drinks/shakes are better than others.

Then she told me to work on eating and drinking slower and that she'd see me once my insurance approved my surgery!

That was it...

Catch Up!

During May, nothing much happened in my quest for WLS but June was a busy month! I'll probably break them down into the individual components to make it easier to read.

First I had my appointment with the Psychotherapist. OMG! I think there were 3 different 'tests' I had to answer! something like 400 questions...but first they game me an I.Q. test, which I'd never had before. No surprise, I scored high in the normal category - just 2 points away from the exceptional category. My verbal skills really sucked and towards the end, my blood sugar dropped and I stopped caring what my answers were.

Then there's the 2 multiple question personality quizzes that have over 400 questions in them which manage to ask the same question 4 different ways just to make sure that you really feel that way. It took at least a couple of hours for filling out those! Then I finally got to talk with the Psychotherapist...(long story short) who thinks that I'm an excellent candidate for WLS.

Amy who blogs on You Tube asked if she was the only one who cried during it...I have to say, I didn't cry, I expected to but I surprised myself by not.

All said and done, it was very tiring and it felt a bit like I was in the "WLS mill" just getting shoved through it in order to get to the end result.

Pretty much like how this whole 6 month weigh-in thing is going...

Next up, my Nutritionist appointment!
