??7.5 pounds, 16.5 lbs lost (since beginning of 2 week pre-surgery diet)
I'm sorry that I haven't updated this in so long, it's been a big few weeks and honestly it didn't occur to me. I'll try to do better now that I have concrete things to report!
Eventually (when I see my surgeon for my follow-up appointment) I'll figure out what my true starting weight is and will adjust all my numbers. It gets confusing because what number you are interested in is how much I've lost since my surgery, but I'm interested in the grand total lost. You remember that I had the insurance mandated 6 months medically supervised weigh-ins, in which I actually managed to gain a pound. Then I had the 2 month wait for surgery which included approximately 60 "Last Meals." Followed by my 2-week Pre-surgery diet designed to shrink my fatty liver. Cumulating with my RNY surgery last Monday.
I didn't weigh in right before surgery. There was too much going on and it didn't occur to me :-(.
Just to catch you up, surgery went better than expected and when I woke up afterwards thanks to modern pain meds, I really didn't feel any different! I was released 2 days later and was just happy to have the ever-annoying drain tube removed.
Since then I have been on full liquids which include yogurt and sugar free pudding. I'm amazed that I haven't been hungry ever and struggle to get in the bare minimum that I need. What a miracle! Next week (Thanksgiving week) I get to progress to the mushy food stage...it will be the only Thanksgiving ever in my life to go by without turkey being ingested which I'm rather sad about.
I've been reading a couple blogs from fellow bariatric surgery peeps: The World According to Eggface and Waning Woman. They both are great and I have to give props to Waning Woman for the use of question marks on her/my weight. It's a brilliant idea!!
Take care...
