??2.5 lbs., 5 lbs. lost from last week, 21 lbs total!
I feel so good! It's been a really good week. I quit taking any pain meds last Monday and to be honest the pain always was extremely minimal. I think once I got out of the hospital I could have managed it with Tylenol but I kept waiting for the pain to kick in and really hurt. It never did I am happy to say!
Tuesday I made hubby take me to the grocery...I had gone stir crazy and was out of coffee creamer (essential in my book!)
All week I kept considering going out on my own and finally did drive my own car on Friday. I am continually trying to find high protein sources because I'm not getting enough in. So I found a recipe for egg custard that I wanted to try. Each serving packs 9 grams of protein. I first went to Bed Bath & Beyond for some 4 oz custard cups then off to Kroger. There was no problems driving other than a bad tendency to speed...which can not be attributed to the surgery - I've always had that bad habit.
I didn't love the egg custard, but it was tolerable. Just about everything I've eaten post surgery has been that way. I wonder if I'll ever find food I enjoy? In a way it would be great if I didn't. But I bet I'll find something when I step up to my new eating stage today.
Yes, I get to add 'Soft Foods' to my diet. Scrambled eggs, tuna, cottage cheese etc. And then chew chew chew until I can't tell what it was before swallowing. That will be a big change as I used to virtually inhale food pre-surgery.
Tomorrow is 2 things: hubby's VSG surgery and my 2-weeks surgery check-up. Since they're both at the same building why not combine them both?
I am nervous about N's surgery. The last time I had a husband have stomach surgery, he died. Granted, it's obviously not the same person or the same surgery and N is much, much healthier. But the worry IS there.
Well gotta run, going to take my fat corgi, Maggie May out for a walk.
Take care...
